Having a big dream or vision is good. I’ve heard world shapers say that bigger dreams are accomplished and smaller ones forgotten.  So set a goal for $50, 00 rather than $5,000 because motivation will get you the higher goal.

________

Everyday you set off pumped and ready to take over the world like Pinky, and somewhere along the morning (can’t even say day) you flatline. You feel overwhelmed, defeated and like a failure. You begin rearranging your tasks for the next day where you expect to have another burst of inspiration or will power. Because of course, inspiration comes at the dawn of each day, delivered at your doorstep. Then it grows legs and jumps in your bed and into your being.

growingwithshalisha.com-pinknbrainYou even begin to doubt your dreams and yourself. That my friend, is the dilemma of not knowing how to cook on medium.  We burn out when the fire is high and we don’t ‘cook’ (under-perform) when the fire’s too low. In the end, you turn the heat completely off.

Well, enough with the metaphors, you get the starting point – our grand visions sometimes crush us. Not due to the enormity of the task but because we may feel lazy and unaccomplished by completing only a quarter of the goal.

It’s worth your peace, heartbeat/rate and sanity to write out your grand plan and then create small steps. Slap yourself on the wrist for trying to do lots of small steps in a day/hour etc. Space things out and give them your full attention. By focusing your creative gifts on one task, your mind won’t wonder to the other task.  You cannot telepathically send an e-mail wile washing the dishes.

This may not be news or a new message for you but we always need a kind reminder when we feel too burnt out to continue or even begin. A wise one said, “If you’re tired of starting over, stop giving up”.

We give up when the vision starts to feel overwhelming. Our way out is always to do small steps and feel a fulfilling peace that it will eventually be accomplished.
