Bienvenue chez moi

It’s finally here, a space where I can do what I’ve always done via e-mail. Share with you. But now I can simply say go to growingwithshalisha.com and read about that remedy or tips on growing spinach! aye aye πŸ˜‰

My closest friends would tell you that I loathe social media, it’s impersonal and not very genuine for the most part. I much rather write in calligraphy, slap a stamp on an envelope and mail it via your postal address (remember those?)

When I moved to Geneva to start my internship, someone suggested I blog my experience but I once again couldn’t get the courage to do it. Everyone reading my personal life, googalie eyes critiquing my every word and thoughts like right now πŸ™‚ I have an empty Facebook page, no pics, no post. I thought no. Two years later, I’m good friends with a social media machine and she gave me a stern chat. For the first time, I thought about it, I prayed about it (yes!), I journaled about it and decided to come out of that shell in the corner of the room and created a Linkedin page. You may think big deal, get over it.Β  Well, I hope that all tells you that this blog did not appear overnight.

I’m here to share my experience. I have been growing in my faith and have asked God to do his good works through me. I’ve had an interesting journey and I just have to spread the word, the story. There is knowledge in the world and we each are where we are sometimes due to lack of knowledge. I’m no expert, I’m just growing like you. But it would be an injustice, if I must say, to not be vulnerable and share an experience or recipe that can help you grow.

I’m that odd package in the mail.

If you view my Linkedin profile, you’ll see corporate but I truly Belong to the Bush! Growing food makes my heart smile and my inner being dance. I make my own deodorant. Dinner could be Ugali, Parmesan chicken and Mauby. I have many accents and I absolutely love parodies.

I hope to show you love, forgiveness and living every minute on purpose through my walk.

I welcome you with open arms to grow with me!
